choosing a work placement. This English language training will allow

for Work Place Preparation students improve their confidence
and language skills in work related activities before they go out in
the workplace. The English training has a focus on soft skills
development such as: English for cover letter and resume writing,
English for Interviewing, networking, and customer service.

Course Name:English for the Workplace Duration: 8 hours/ 1 week course Monday to Thursday 1:00-3:00p.m. Level: Intermediate and Above
Overview: English for the Workplace is a one week
course designed for students to learn the English skills necessary for a
job placement in Canada. Students will create resumes, cover letters
with practical business language. They will also have the opportunity
to practice job interviews and learn about Canadian business etiquette.
It is a hands-on course that will prepare students going into the job
placement program through CET Vancouver.
If the English that you studied at school is not enough to help you
communicate with partners in an international setting, then business
English classes will help you achieve success. Modules cover topics such
as interviewing, presentations, advertising, leadership, intercultural
affairs, cross-cultural etiquette and negotiation. At CET Vancouver, we
will make sure that you return home with the confidence you need to
excel in the competitive world of international business.
CUSTOMISED BUSINESS ENGLISH PROGRAMS
CET Vancouver is pleased to offer specialised training programs
specific to the needs of international executives. Programs can be
arranged starting from one week minimum. CETVancouver will create unique
content based classes which will give students a competitive advantage
and confidence in their ability to communicate in a business
environment. Groups must have a minimum of 8 students. Please contact

English for the Hospitality Industry
If you want to study English and gain valuable hospitality
knowledge. CET Vancouver offers an intensive English course with a focus
in the hospitality industry. Participation and successful conclusion of
the 4-week course results in a guaranteed job placement for a maximum
of 1 year in one of our partner hotels. Focus for all students is on
hotel employment, most time being devoted to restaurant service, but
also looking at front office and housekeeping language. Upon completion
of the course students will feel comfortable using English in the role
of their work experience.
Topics/Vocabulary:
Addressing customers and superiors, Interviews/telephone interviews,
Food & menus, restaurant language, Alcohol: wine and spirits, other
beverages, Acronyms and idioms, Tourist attractions, Chores and fun
activities, Body language, Sexual harassment, Clothing, Resumes/Cover
letters.
Evaluation: Daily written and oral tests. Poor
attendance, lack of participation, or low skills scores may result in a
failure to pass the course, exclusion from participation in the 4- week
course and job placement.
